Create a Database and Table in phpMyAdmin

In this tutorial, you will learn how to create a database and table within phpMyAdmin.

Creating a database and table are the basics of working with PHP and MySQL. Keep in mind that most hosting packages will provide at least one MySQL database. This database can have unlimited tables and data stored in it. When going to create your database and table you will most likely be using phpMyAdmin. This is included in most hosting panels and in XAMPP. To create a database just type in the database name and get started. For tables you will need to create a name and then select the number of fields you will need. There are many different options for each table field. I went over some of the most common ones in the tutorial. If you knew only those attributes, you would be able to store almost any kind of data. This was a preparatory tutorial for some of my future PHP and MySQL tutorials. I figured that it would be much more beneficial to create a tutorial explaining the process thoroughly upfront than for each time we need to create a table or database.
