Simple Fading

In this tutorial, you will learn how to create fades in Flash CS3.

Fading is the simplest of all transitions. It is subtle, yet effective. In Flash, you can create a simple fade by using a classic tween of alpha values. On the first frame of your frame, set the alpha value to zero. Copy this frame and paste it out the length you want the fade to last. Change the alpha to 100% on this frame and then right click in the middle of the two frames. Select motion tween for CS3 and classic tween for CS4. This should give you a simple fade. This is a useful trick to know and can add that extra flare that sets your work apart.
